Patience is a Waiting Game (have I said this before?)

It’s Thursday and Dan is still in ICU and on the ventilator – I’m lead to believe that it’s a good thing for him, allowing him to rest another day. I don’t know what to think any more. The plan was to try to take him off the vent again today but a another test was ordered to scan his gallbladder and they thought it best to keep him on it. If the gallbladder scan sounds familiar to you long-time blog trotters, that’s because it is the same test he had a little over a month ago. They are checking for changes there that might shed some light on some of Dan’s challenges.

He’s got a lot going on but remaining stable. All that is going on within him is being treated so that is reassuring to me.  Everyone agrees Dan is due to turn the corner to Strong and Healthy streets.

Janice, Dan, Nick, Dave… everyone else. I just want to make sure you all know Dan is in my prayers – you all are. I love you all and I wish I wasn’t so far away so I could give hugs and hugs and hugs in person.

I came across an old photo albumn while cleaning out a desk drawer and began reliving some of the fun we’ve had at work over the years; the Christmas parties, fund raising events, Emmy awards banquets and stumbling around make-shift studios for some kind of live event or another. One constant on those pages is Dan. Mostly he’s screwing around with Janice or a friend/crew worker, making people laugh and always putting them at ease. He has the ability to get the shot or make the deadline when no one else really sees a way to make it happen. Then he puts bunny ears behind someone’s head and makes some stupid face for the camera and enjoys the moment. Enjoying the moment. That’s one lesson Dan’s tries desperatly to pass on to me, a born worrier, always in a rush. I’m getting over that, but I sure could use Dan’s help to keep me on track. We all could. Much love and many prayers are with all of you.
